Time for a New Year with New Years Resolutions Moms?
Does it even make sense for there to be new years resolutions for Moms? Don’t Moms have enough on their plate without thinking of ways they need to “improve”?
This year think about your New Year and the New Years Resolutions that go with it in a different way. As you think about last year and the coming year, consider ways that you can make your to-do list easier.
One of the best ways to be a better Mom is to be a less stressed Mom for your family and kids. And a great way to be less stressed is to use tools and systems as a way to get there.
When you figure out the systems that make sense for your life and your house, you can automate it and forget about it. The following ideas and tips can help you make your New Years Resolution more likely to happen, by giving you the tools you need to succeed.
Regardless though, don’t feel bad if you don’t complete your new years resolution to your satisfaction. The main thing is to keep trying and you will get there!
You Don’t Have to Be a Better Person, You are Already Doing a Good Job
As a Mom, you are already doing great and important work. Busy moms just need a little help with things like planning family dinners, getting enough sleep, or dealing with a messy house (which is okay to have by the way – you are human).
Or maybe, you want to set a goal for spending less of your free time on social media (see below “8 Ways to Free Yourself from Distractions”). How about spending more quality time with your family and less screen time for all of you? Check out “How to Manage Your Time” for some hints on ways to make this possible too.
The point is to set realistic new year’s resolutions that help you every single day to achieve what is the most important thing for most of us – spending time with our family. We want to spend time with our family feeling relaxed and not stressed by the mountain of clothes that need washed or the remnants of the family meal that needs put away.
If you think about New Year’s Eve, as a random line drawn in the sand to give all of us a fresh start in the new year with our new goals, it can make it easier on you. If you try and fail, oh well! Try again.
As long as you keep your eye on the prize of where you want to be next year at this time, you will make progress. And progress is really all that is necessary while you are living your life to the best of your ability.
If you need help on where to begin, the following is a round-up of articles and resources to help you set some new habits and personal goals around what is important to YOU.
