How to Change Your Mood with Mood Shifters
Do you ever feel the need for a shift in mood (what I like to call a mood shifter)? Maybe you are feeling down about something in particular or obsessing over something you would rather not.
I know there are days where I definitely need to hit the reset button and maybe you do too. I have found two resources to help you do just that.
Mood Shifter Number One
Sometimes what is needed is a reminder that whatever is going on right now will pass. We are a small part of a much larger picture.
And, what we need to do is “Breathe”. If you are feeling particularly anxious and need help with calming your breathing, please read my previous post on just that subject – Just Breathe.
Mood Shifter Number Two
Another great way to calm yourself down is to listen to the song “Weightless” by Marconi Union. Numerous articles have been published about the calming effect of this music recently.
In fact, an institution called Mindlab said that listening to the song “Weightless” can reduce your anxiety by 65% and also reduce your pulse rate. The song was created by Marconi Union’s musicians along with British sound therapists.
“Weightless” is a mood shifter worth listening to when you find yourself spinning out of control. Try listening or watching the video when you feel especially anxious. Please do not listen or watch while you are driving!
What are your favorite Mood Shifters? I hope you enjoy these two and I am excited to learn about your favorite go to mood shifters!
