If you are anything like me, you know what you need to do to take better care of yourself, but finding the time and motivation can be tricky. It can be easy to forget to include self-care at all, especially when you are stressed. Loveselfcare and the posts on this site are here to serve as a reminder to do the things you need to do for you. They are a reminder for us all to take better care of ourselves. Here you will find many articles on Self-Care, Personal Development and Relaxation.
Loveselfcare.com will strive to be the following:
- A place to feel good
- A space to have fun
- A place to find hope
- A resource to plan your mini-escapes from daily life (what I call Escape Pods)
- A safe spot to shift your mood when you feel out of sorts
- A judgement free zone
- A place to receive permission to take care of yourself
And, Loveselfcare.com will NOT be the following:
- A place to feel bad about yourself
- Yet another tool for your self-flagellation kit
- Just another item to add to your to-do list (rather a to-be or to-feel list)
- A place to feel guilty
- A condemnation or pile of shoulds to heap on your back
- A place to find commentary on politics or gossip
The perfect place to start on this site is here. I would love to connect with you and let you know when I add more resources to this site. If you are interested in receiving this information, please sign up for my newsletter here. Check back often because I am always on the lookout for ways for us all to feel better!
I believe excellent self-care is possible in this day and age, you just have to schedule some time everyday for you and it will pay off in huge dividends in the quality of your home life and relationships. You have to take care of yourself to effectively take care of anyone else. This is the exact opposite of a “selfish” act.
As for me, I’m a wife and the mother of three girls. I love my family more than anything, and I also know to serve them best I need to also be aware of what I need to thrive. I’m an Enthusiast – Type 7 on the Enneagram (so that should tell you all you need to know about my constant desire to learn about everything). My professional life has consisted of lots of time spent in marketing, project management, writing, and consulting. I love to write and have since I was young.
I’ve struggled with anxiety for decades and was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder in my twenties. I’m a big believer in getting help from a professional (which I am not), so please talk to your doctor or find a good therapist to get help if you need it.
You do not have to go it alone, tough it out, or generally be anything other than what you are. We all need some help now and again. Also, there is no shame in getting help either – I honestly have no idea where these ideas come from and I certainly hope they are soon to be a thing of the past. You deserve to feel good and not suffer, period.
The good news is with help, you don’t have to feel bad anymore. You can learn life skills and new ways of thinking of things. Worry and anxiety can become a footnote in your life rather than the whole story. (Or at least that is what I’ve been fortunate enough to experience).
My passion has always been providing hope to others and now I hope to do so through this blog and by delivering products that provide some form of relief to many of you. I’m enjoying the journey of this life and I hope you are too!
