If you are reading this, you must have some interest in learning more about either this site or me. If you are interested in this site, Loveselfcare.com began several years ago when I needed something like this and couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for at the time. It still seems to be the case I write mostly about what I need to remind myself (funny enough – a lot of other women have the same stress!). My main goal for this site is for it to be a place where people can feel hopeful and loved.
Even though we may know what we need to do, it can be easy to forget – especially when we are stressed. The many posts on this site therefore are related to three main areas: Self-Care, Personal Development and Relaxation (because those are the ones I need the most help with!). It is so easy to forget to take care of myself sometimes too.
As for me, I’m a wife and the mother of three girls. I love my family more than anything, and I also know to serve them best I need to also be aware of what I need to thrive. I’m an Enthusiast – Type 7 on the Enneagram (so that should tell you all you need to know about my constant desire to learn about everything). My professional life has consisted of lots of time spent in marketing, project management, writing, and consulting. I love to write and have since I was young.
I’ve struggled with anxiety for decades and was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder in my twenties. I’m a big believer in getting help from a professional (which I am not), so please talk to your doctor or find a good therapist to get help if you need it.
You do not have to go it alone, tough it out, or generally be anything other than what you are. We all need some help now and again. Also, there is no shame in getting help either – I honestly have no idea where these ideas come from and I certainly hope they are soon to be a thing of the past. You deserve to feel good and not suffer, period.
The good news is with help, you don’t have to feel bad anymore. You can learn life skills and new ways of thinking of things. Worry and anxiety can become a footnote in your life rather than the whole story. (Or at least that is what I’ve been fortunate enough to experience).
Anyway, enough about me.
Loveselfcare.com will always strive to be the following:
- A place to feel good
- A space to have fun
- A place to find hope
- A resource to plan your mini-escapes from daily life (what I call Escape Pods)
- A safe spot to shift your mood when you feel out of sorts
- A judgement free zone
- A place to receive permission to take care of yourself
And, Loveselfcare.com will NOT be the following:
- A place to feel bad about yourself
- Yet another tool for your self-flagellation kit
- Just another item to add to your to-do list (rather a to-be or to-feel list)
- A place to feel guilty
- A condemnation or pile of shoulds to heap on your back
- A place to find commentary on politics or gossip
The perfect place to start on this site is here. I would love to connect with you and let you know when I add more resources to this site. If you are interested in receiving this information, please sign up for my newsletter here. Check back often because I am always on the lookout for ways for us all to feel better!
I believe excellent self-care is possible in this day and age, you just have to schedule some time everyday for you and it will pay off in huge dividends in the quality of your home life and relationships. You have to take care of yourself to effectively take care of anyone else. This is the exact opposite of a “selfish” act.
My passion has always been providing hope to others and now I hope to do so through this blog and by delivering products that provide some form of relief to many of you. I’m enjoying the journey of this life and I hope you are too!
